Formula
Length × Width × Height × Quantity → m³

What does CBM mean?

CBM means cubic meter, a common measure of shipment volume in international freight. For multiple identical cartons, multiply the volume of one carton by the number of cartons.

CBM example

A 60 × 40 × 35 cm carton equals 0.084 m³. Ten identical cartons equal 0.84 CBM. This is the figure commonly used when comparing how much freight space a shipment occupies.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate CBM from centimeters?

Multiply length × width × height in centimeters, then divide by 1,000,000. Multiply by quantity for identical cartons.

Is CBM the same as cubic feet?

No. Both measure volume, but CBM uses cubic meters. The calculator also converts the result to cubic feet.
